Question
O2 Failed operating system SBS 2003
Answer

When installing the software on the CD that came with the O2 Wireless box III and choosing "add an extra computer to my O2 Broadband connection", the installer runs some system checks and fails on the operating system (OS) check like below:

Installer error

This is simply because Windows Server 2003 is not an operating system that is supported by O2.

The next page asks you to call customer services quoting an assistance number.

After calling them they said they cannot offer any support because they do not support the OS.

Unfortunately there is no way to attempt an override and install the software anyway, however the

connection to the router does not actually require the installation of this software to work.

If you plug your computer into the router with a regular Ethernet cable or connect to it wirelessly there

should not be any problems providing everything is setup correctly - the internet should still work.
