When you find a new supplier, you will need to set up their details in your Sage Instant Accounts.
Click on the Suppliers module on the left hand side and then New at the top of the Suppliers List.

A Sage Wizard procedure will begin with a series of windows for you to enter information about your new Supplier:

Click on Next and enter the Supplier's name.
As you enter the Supplier's name in the next window, Sage will automatically enter an Account Reference based on the first 8 characters of the Supplier's name. You may wish to edit this Account Reference depending on your company policy for creating reference numbers but please note that this is the only time the supplier reference number can ever be edited.

Click on Next and a new window will appear, as shown below, asking for the Supplier's address, telephone and fax details.

Enter these details and click Next.
A similar window will appear asking for further contact details for your Supplier, including their website and email details and also a contact name / trade contact. Enter these and click Next.
The next window that appears will ask for the credit details that this Supplier has given you as well as the Nominal Code and Tax Code that your purchases from this Supplier should be recorded with. If you enter this information here then it saves you having to enter it every time you enter an invoice received from the Supplier.

Click on the Next button and another window will appear that will ask for details about the settlement and payment terms that have been agreed with your Supplier.

Even if you do not wish to enter this information at this time, click the Terms Agreed box, otherwise Sage will keep telling you that terms have not yet been agreed every time you click on the Supplier.
Click Next and a new window will appear where you can enter the Supplier's bank name and address details - complete if required. Click Next.
Another window will appear asking for your Supplier's bank account details - complete if required. Click Next.
The next window will ask you whether you wish to post an opening balance for your Supplier. Click on the appropriate answer, although in most cases the answer will be No. Click Next and then Finish.
Your new Supplier will now appear in the Suppliers List.
