FAQ - Sage Instant Accounts

Question
A handy tip for finding Nominal Codes in Sage
Answer

If you often have trouble remembering a particular nominal code number, here is a quick and easy way to find it.

When you are entering a bank payment that has been made:

Nominal Code 6

If you click on the Nominal Ledger 'A/C' box, all the nominal codes will be listed in numerical order. It can take some time to browse through the various nominal code names to find the one you want to use...

However, if you click on the Nominal Ledger 'Name' box, all the nominal codes will be listed in alphabetical order. Once the nominal codes are in alphabetical order, you can search for particular codes by keying in the first letter of the code you are looking for.  For example, if you are looking for the code for Office Stationery, press the letter 'o' on the keyboard and the list will scroll down to all the nominal codes beginning with 'o':

Nominal Code 7

This method is useful to quickly find individual nominal code numbers.
