FAQ - How Do I

Question
Set up defaults for shifts and shift templates?
Answer

Navigate to the record card for the department you want to update < ctrl + N > and enter the department name.

In the record card on the main menu select setup, then shift pattern.

If not previously set, you will be asked for the start day of the week.

The current setup will be displayed.

On the right hand side will be a tab for each skill employed in the department (as currently set)

On the bottom of the screen are a row of tabs that allow you to:

  • Add staff and remove them
  • Add Shifts and remove them
  • Edit the start and end times for each row of shifts or each shift individually
  • Do the same for the break times
  • Set a shift as automatically created each day as a requirement or disabled from selection in new requirements screen
  • Set a a prefix for the unique booking reference,

If appropriate pay scale, grade and pay conditions for that shift.

In addition Template shift patterns with specific mixes of skills can be set up. These will automatically appear as choices when the department setup wizard is run.

To setup a new Template: Navigate to any Location record card (not a department record card).

Create a new department with the skill selection required.

Save.

The record card for this new department will open.

Click on the archive button and select Template as the option. The Record card will now become a template.

Save.

You can edit this template in exactly the same way as any department.

To navigate to this or any other template < ctrl + N > and select [ All ] from the option buttons at the top of the window. Now type “Template” and a list of templates will be displayed.
