FAQ - Client Install

Question
How to install an AvaPA client
Answer

1. You will need to know where the server install files are. If you have not got this information in an Ava contact or application support file: go to a working PC and open explorer. Note how the AvaPA specific (Network) folders on your server (Update and Template) are mapped to that PC
The view will differ in Windows XP and Vista

Windows Vista:

Vista computer
Wndows XP:

XP computer

2. Now go to the “clean” machine and log in as administrator for the PC
3. Open Explorer and check that the Update and Template directories/folders are mapped to the local computer. If not map them as the other PC. (Menu item: Tools | Map network drives in XP and Menu item: Map network drives in Vista)
4. Open the Update folder: there will be a file client install either in this folder or in a sub folder depending on the initial install.
